~ A World Of Her Own ~

He gave her such
A wonderful life.
A life so fulfilled
With such love and joy.

~*~

The time had come
When he made her his wife.
And together they shared
A beautiful baby boy.

~*~

Then one day he had
To suddenly go away.
To defend our country
For we were at war.

~*~

For his safety each night
She would pray.
Please Lord let there be
Peace forever more.

~*~

One evening there was
A knock at her door.
Her greatest fears
Had dreadfully come true .

~*~

Screaming and crying
As she fell to the floor.
For he had died doing
What he had to do.

~*~

Shattered was the only
World that she had known,
Her sanity, never was she
Able to ever regain.

~*~



So alone she now sits
Lost in a world of her own.
In a place of total seclusion
Engulfed by claws of pain.

Oh what sentimental mood music. I can still rememember the "Glenn Miller" story. I remember the movie and all that happened before and after he died. The music alone made me cry. And the poem was so hurting. I can just see her there after all those years waiting and waiting and waiting. Bill Murray.

I had to deliver a few of those messages myself upon returning. I always tried to let them know that the sacrifices were not only their own, but the countries. Brave men and women leave no one behind they are waiting for us on the other side.
