i can relate to this piece, trixie, as i am a survivor, too. survived a very premature birth (1 1/2 pounds i weighed back in 1959, and i was expected to die; in fact, the docs gave me last rites the day i was born!), and i survived emotional and mental abuse. great write with a strong, positive statement! :) (((HUGS))) from one survivor to another....
