Counting Our Blessings

These words come to me as we go through a turmoil in our lives, but I can still see a light at the end of the tunnel

We are broke, but that's ok, for we have love, the one thing in life no one can take away

We have precious love of family, close friends too,  what more can we ask for, this is so true

Sometimes we feel so let down, but all we have to do is take a good look around

There is a roof still over our heads, food in the cupboards, freezer and fridge

Where we are headed, only God knows, but we take it one day at a time, as we head down this road

Maybe we are lucky, thats what we say, to hang on to what we have so it won't all slip away

But in stead we count our blessings each and every day, especially, as we kneel to pray.

This poem is something I'd like framed and placed on the wall next to our dinner table. It is imbued with the wisdom sometimes awarded to a seasoned traveler. Excellent. J'nia <> <

Hung so much in material things, people only compare their lives with what they don't have anymore.
Counting their blessings should be the first step on the road that only God knows but that we know is the right one.
Great advice!

Lena so much is said within your words dear and so many in this situation. Not everyone can see the good points or able to count their blessings, maybe your words can encourage them. Keep your eye on that light dear sis.

Dear Cuz, a very uplifting write that applies to so many of us these days and in the next little while apply to even more and more as the economy nose dives and the politicians stick their heads where the sun don't shine. You have a great attitude and a wonderful support system so I know you will be fine.
