We take hold of the least crumb
that a man/woman offers to us from
an affair which is not either here or there
but somwhere in a fantasy atmosphere
in today's culture of internet lore
and other places where it's spread galore
but only in imagination, for anything else
is a play station of the past when our
relationships had different meanings and
marriage was part of the gleanings, from
a society with certain standards set, by
which we lived, that  no longer are met
for we have "progressed?" to a higher cave
one that is more fashionable of facade
but inside is the same old sod, and never
will we retrace our past, because we live in
times too fast, to ever learn the proper way
so we make it up new each day, and wonder
why life and love have become so hard to play

A very gutsy write Eileen, I think in this day and age there will always be two schools of thought on this complex subject. Love the way you write! love and peace...

It's always been hard Eileen, even without the net, but now we have cyber love

Yeah, but I remember it being equally hard before the Internet as well. :-) Provocative writing as usual, Lady Eileen. ~~Nordette

Tiddlywinks! Lol, Sorry, Eileen, forgive my filppancy. This is excellent, Love comes in many ways. The net has for some become a means to an end. Unfortunately it's easy to get lost in cyberspace where innoncence can be corrupted.

"wonder why life and love have become so hard to play"

Because most people have no idea of the higher power of life and love. The ones who have spiritual chemistry can so POWERFULLY align on the internet and of course all other places too. There's just a feel to knowing. It is intuiton, an intuitive resource only the wise sages tap into. They are wiser individuals who would only place truth and honor above all else for spiritual love. Everything has to align with the stars, the natal charts having great meaning and the constellations having a linkage. Lies come from somewhere way down below, the Devil's territory. I do not live in fantasy. I experience what I write on the page! Period! This is a good write, Eileen. It addresses many things inside the crater of everyday living.

Glad you put that question mark there, Tiger Lily, since I often think we've gone backwards in many ways, not forward. And there truly are many predators out there - everywhere.

Ain't it so true sorry to say. Well done Eileenwith 60% of marriages ending in divorce, makes one wonder where love vanished too.

Andy this isn't just about the internet. I have great friends for years made online. It's about our changed society as a whole. We should never fear to reach out, but we should always keep our common sense and not be caught up in fantasy replacing reality. I've known many people who have suffered greatly from internet affairs, mostly due to lies and wrong assumptions. That neighbors daughter I wrote about, has brain damage from her suicide attempt, and will never be right. It could have happened in any event not just the internet, but cyberspace is just one more way, and a very easy deceptive one, for, especially young people, to be hurt by predators.

Thanks to the net, I've found the sweetest, caring and most unselfish lady friend, as have other peeps. Peeps I hold in high esteem.

And made such great friends who've blessed and enriched my life.

Some people are wired to go for it in life, whilst other are life's spectators. There is more threat in a pub than wisely making new friends from the world over. Life is just one big risk. Fear can damage us holding us in a state of suspended animation.

At every positive opportunity it is good to respond.

What the heck life is for living and loving. No greater power than love love love...

We live in an unforgiving and surreal world these days, where all the accepted norms have been vanquished, to be replaced by the easy come, easy go society that we all now have to endure !
No wonder moral, social and family values have been eroded to the point of no return
The future does not bear thinking about Eileen !
Thanks for having the courage of your convictions, and spilling it out !

Future: The Spiritual Story of Humanity by Glenn Martin

Histories of the world are generally written to either celebrate technology and science, or to herald doom. My book examines the path of the spirit in the onward rush.
