To criticise poetry is not a personal assault. I'm dismayed that so many who can't sing think that they are American Idol. A guy once did me a big favor by telling me that I couldn't whistle. I stopped irritating others' ears. I can still sing and read my poetry.

Negativity breeds negativity, Eileen, you are so right. The world is large and there is room for every opinion and every personality here. We were all created to be unique so why do people get so upset when we don't agree on everything? If we can find common ground in a few ways, there is no reason why a friendship should not be able to flourish. Who wants to be surrounded by "yes" people who agree with everything that we say? I love the diversity of different opinions, and though I may not agree, I enjoy hearing the reasons that they have that opinion. I have said this here a bazillion times but I guess it needs to be said again..."Different isn't the same as wrong!" Great write, E, I enjoyed the read very much.

Kindness has always been something tangible, but I will admit it is worse now than at any time I remember. Speaking of remembering, I still remember the recent, awful Christmas Day. I am sure you do also.

Excellence shines in your thought provoking words, Eileen; it takes no energy to reach out in love. It takes an awful toll to live a life filled with hatred, mostly on the person who is filled with rancor (spelling?). Such a sad existance...BRAVA!
