My life bleeds into the mornings dawn but it goes unseen by your eyes for you are long gone~ unlike how it was last night when I was misty in moonglow pulsating in your arms~as you whispered of my charms
How often I sing this mournful refrain like a lonesome dove crying in the rain~are birds like us~do they too despair~ when their love disappears~never knowing if they will return~so we are left to yearn
Where did it come from~this habit of love having to cost the payment of one partner lost~shouldn't love be an equal share~so one isn't left feeling bereft of care
Causing such anguish who can explain why love has only one to remain while the other won't try to make it last for they see themselves as star cast who decides which one comes first and which has their bubble burst!
I just read that Americans are getting more lonely. Maybe that's our problem, Eileen. We're female Americans. Nawwww, I think we're just summoned to fits of realism sometimes. LOL.

In those lines lie much truth. Usually I think one partner decides that they are worth more than the other partner, "Oh, I deserve better," becomes the internal refrain. And so they go in search of better. In reality, unless your partner is afflicted with asocial personality disorder or narcissism, you get what you give.

It would seem that there is one who proceeds innocently with eager anticipation of making the garden a beautiful blessing for the two to share, while the other, with equal eagerness in the beginning, is torn away by those forces that hate who LOVE really is and the fruits of such.

There will always be that force trying to destroy real love, because in the river of real love, I personally believe, lies all answers of all the unanswered questions that have mystified mankind from the beginning.
Someone once said, "You can't buy love insurance; a guarantee that a person will love you forever ... or that you, yourself, will always love the other with the same intensity." Therefore, love and enjoy it, yet when love departs, you must let go, and adjust, or else become bitter, or emotionally handicapped. If you truly love someone, you'll want that person to be happy. Great question Eileen... do birds despair when the life partner is gone (through injury etc). What simple wisdom do they possess that keeps them flying high?
