We have to learn to really listen to what is being said instead of what we would like to hear them say.
We have simply throughout the ages, managed to turn off our ears to the male voice. It's a shame too...I think we've become extremely numb, not only in mind but heart as well.
We must stop and truly listen before we will ever close that gap we've invented.
It'll be okay Eileen...it just takes time, and patience, on both sides.
Some feel compelled to open the closed mind. They waste their lives trying. I prefer to run the other way. If they need my opinion, they'll come to me.

It's a sign of the times,
we've lost so many
of our morals, including:
HONOR, and, RESPECT!!
Sounds like reality is pushing hard on the door, but don't worry to much, it's not greener on the other side, men think pretty much the same about women :-)

LOL's!!! Kate has quite a response to this and an aswer...except in springtime when nature calls the heart. I'm like you Eileen...after so many years of being conditioned to someone who you can't reach...it becomes a learning situation. Best to walk away.
Relationships require flexibility and if that is not present then that relationship is doomed to failure. The older I get the less flexible I become, which is why I remain single. I could never enter into a relationship where my inability to compromise would hurt another. In a time in my life when being selective is a very difficult thing, since there is less to select from, I find myself the most selective I have ever been-go figure. Excellent thoughts here, Eileen.

Aw, Eileen, most of the time it is that old "defensive mechanism" taking hold. Men, especially in our "enlightened" era have become much more protective of what we feel is us, and by that I mean, the "man" inside. For so many, many years, through books, TV, movies, lectures, etc., we men have been subjected to ridicule for being men. Think about it. Keep tabs on television advertisements. Out of ten of them at least eight are using a man in some embarrassing way or shown to be dumber than dumb. All I am saying is that men have become the brunt of America. Just today I saw a report that said that women are "leaving men in their wake" in the colleges. They probably are too. The colleges are feminine oriented to the point that men are the latest stupid Neanderthal. Okay. Didn't mean to go off on this, but within my rambling you will find some truth, I bet ya.
Heeeheee! I was reading about Kate's comment. My hubby and I have miscommunications all the time. Sometimes he's so far out there it was impossible for me to explain what I had just said, then I would say, "Ah, you're not even listening. Forget it!"
