I set  my love free
to journey where it may
if you should meet it
you may ask it to stay
there isn't enough
of the real stuff
so whatever you do
don't rebuff

I'm not asking that
it be returned
I'm only giving what
I have learned
If you feel the need
to love back, please do
but only if it's true

Love was never meant
to cause confusion
It was to spread joy
and harmonic fusion
to make sure of
humanities inclusion

Love is not passionate
desire,that sets us afire
that waxes and wanes
like a mans erection
it has more to do with
the hearts affection
and doesn't end with
rejection

Love is everlasting
it grows more precious
with each years passing
if you want the feeling
that comes and goes,
you must choose lust
to curl your toes

Don't cry if it departs
for lust hasn't much to do
with hearts, true love is
filled with desire, but
it is the kind that
won't expire

Eileen

The way of true love is a forgotteen art nowadays..
I am tempted to say it's best to be on your own in this 21st Century World..

From beginning to end, it speaks of what most of us search for and some of us are lucky enough to find... well done in content and in rhythmic flow of the piece.

A truer poem was never written. Love and lust are like day and night. Lust is never a good thing if you accept the true meaning of it--using someone to satisfy your own needs. Excellent poem, Eileen.

People seldom confuse love with passion. I think they should read this marvelous poem to distinquish love from lust. Thanks Eileen and god bless you queen. Every poem of yours is a lesson to millions around the world.

"there isn't enough of the real stuff" How sadly true in this old world of ours today. We definitely need more 'real stuff.'

Eileen this packs a beautiful punch. It's tone and meter is perfect. I have saved it and am so tempted to send it to someone!! ...with the intention of it landing right between their eyes, knocking 'em for six and...well to be honest, I so wish I had written it! Superb poetry. Love Panda :)

Ah, it all boils down to that erection. Probably have a point there. Poem was written well, flowed well and had a moral, more of less.

And RIGHT on the button, Eileen! Candid with no-messin. You and me seem to be on the same page today... albeit coming from totally different angles and with differing material. You certainly know your stuff when it comes to the "L"-word; whether you craft delicate curlicues of romance or sock it right between the eyes, gloves on or gloves off, your writing packs a powerful message. And this is a great example. LOL Kate xx

Wasn't FREE LOVE the motto of sorts of the late 60's...? A lustful curling of toes, huh, I must try that someday too...;) Ed
