Remembering a time gone by when it snowed, on sleighs we'd fly snowball fights were a merriment toasting marshmellows on open fires we were content
In summer instead of snow it was sand On beaches we'd build castles so grand Run into the water as waves recede Race back to shore as they rush in on our faces a happy grin
Carefree days at the Jersey shore Who could ask for anything more Our bungalow filled with fun galore My childhood from June to September
Now all I can do is remember I walk the boardwalk in my mind Seeing us as we were back then Seagulls song memories so strong
And as summer gave way to fall Which rushed into winter, the snow Once again brought us pleasure and As flakes fell we'd remember our plans For when we would return to the sand
You brought me back to my summers in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ
From June until September catching rays and teasing waves, ice cream cones and child's play!

And the snow...well those socks for mittens and returning soggy and frozen home are as keen in my mind as the flexible flyer that wisked me down icy roads and in hopes school would be cancelled for many more days.
For a time, I perched myself on a flat rock, comparing my life with the Guyandotte River. Just as its tributaries replenish it daily, changing it in some small—sometimes great—degree, so have the day-to-day occurrences of life changed me. Like the ri
