Poem Artwork

The sky looked angry, and
the sea matched it's ferocity

Clouds roiling in robust haste
Waves wildly crashing over rocks

It was all a perfect match for the way
I was feeling, my mood tempestuous

I stood on the shore, but I felt myself
caught in the tension between their forces

I felt like I was a player amongst the
flagrant beauty of their irascibility

I thought of me as the discontented water
My lover as the fuming, overbearing sky

Could we ever  become harmonious
I wanted to screech out like the seagulls

My gregariousness could not be stifled
His austere seriousness was cemented

But when his voracious appetite tasted
My wild and wondrous gourmet edibles

I could make his sky blue and serene
While he made my sea calm and content

I love when sky and sea meet;-)

Oh Eileen, I loved this.
The contrasts
The battles that rage
Then the calm after the storm
Bonds that can form.

Oh me too... You bin on the oysters agin?! :)) Love this, Eileen and can so relate... The more time I spend here at the coast the more my mind and moods are shapeshifting the absolutely unique and exquisite light and atmospheres that abound only where sea, sand and sky meet. Taciturn but passionate. This is totally IT! And, VERY impatient, yes.... !! :)) Bless you, Kate xx
