You described the pain of loneliness in this beautiful poem. The most sorrowful pain is when tears cannot come out of the eyes. You lack a way to explain why that should happen to you. It is sad when things fall apart like this.

This is a poignant and honest write, Eileen. There are times when loneliness just seems to overpower us with no rhyme or reason. Thank God, it isn't all the time -- I know we can feel lonely in a crowd of people. Just one of the human conditions, I guess. Better times are ahead, sweet poet lady.
