wrote this after watching a film
about a woman who led a selfish
life ends up dying alone

~*~

i stand in sand midst
kelp and sea
with no memory of
how i got here

i have no fear since
i don't care
having lost all that
i held dear

huge dark sky over me
with fog and shadow
for company i weep
tears of sorrow

choice brought me here
to my waterloo
living for oneself makes
of life a wicked brew

careless with the gift
of family and friends
i'm now faced with
my own bitter end

ET,
Sorrowful feelings when I read this, but so well written (and all in LOWERCASE) which I love to see. This refreshed me and makes me ponder my own life's future.

Thanks,
George

This has shades of IRIS innit, ( Judy Dench) hmmm, in any case its a keeper.
We reap what we sow in this life for sure.
Do not take any notice of that person below telling you how to spell LOLOL. You can spell colour any way you want ROFL.

You are my favourite writer Queen. No one writes like you do.

EXcellence, Eileen, both at the top of our respective poetry meter having made it tonight, you never know how these things are going to fly! Even with graphic, is the audience going to decipher?? I did! I have arrived, knowing how I did get here...faith, spiritualism, and goddess prayer...Blessed Be.

Warmly and in Kindred Spirit,

Sage

We reap what we sow. I think nothing is more important than stopping to help someone. Even if you are alone at the end, you will be fullfilled. Good poets write their obsevations. Yours are keen.

E.T., this is sad but oh so true...you get back in this life what you have given. I've seen this happen in many peoples lives, but yet, when they are alone they blame it on everyone else but themselves. You've expressed this in a great poem.

We certainly do reap what we sow in this life Sugar Chum, and it always comes in due season. This exceptional poem, with the undergirding image, is quite indicative of that reality. Well done!
