just wanted you to know wwhat happened
first time in 10 years that I crashed
I blame my anti virus, more in my news
on that.Have missed you all;-)!!!

Once again I ponder dualities of life
when wondrous contentment meets strife
loving the advantageous computer age
hating it when losing all causes rage
that's what happened, not one thing left
total loss leaving me quite bereft
thankful a new computer working great
but for all I lost will never compensate
while I feel happiness with my gain
I'm suffering my loss with pain
going hand in hand good and bad
the dichotomy of feeling glad and sad
is there never a time all goes well
does every day have to share some hell
I had many back ups ,but not programs
mostly it is poems pics music I saved
lots of good things are in PC grave
enough whining i have a lot to recover
on with the new things i may discover
we have something in common, going through computers like water ;)

Lightens the load I guess. However your hard-drive contents is normally retrievable, unless that was severely damaged.

Sorry about the loss, Eileen. Certainly I can empathize with you. I've had many and many of my poems go to their grave because of my PC. It's so heart-rending knowing that our little 'masterpieces' are gone forever =D
Good to see you back again, know how you feel mine crashed a few months ago, of course no backup...I haven't learned how yet, at work it was always done on 3rd shift, guess I will have to ask one of my friends how to do it

Glad to hear everything's back to normal, Tiger Lily. The same thing happened to me a few weeks back (It was those crafty Gnomes that sabotaged my computer) and I lost tons and tons of stuff, and even some pictures I'll never be able to replace. But I guess it's time to create new stories, poems, and pictures. Keep On, Keepin On!
Eileen, just happy to hear you are okay. I learned years ago always to keep a hard copy of everything I enter into a computer. Sooo I have files and files and files of everything and anything, but always a hard copy I keep. Might have to re-enter a few things, but at least it is not gone forever. Besides I have two desk tops and one lap top and I have never had all three break down at the same time. Everything I do, all work I enter is always done in triplicate because I have been snagged a time or two in the past. Just happy to know you are okay.....
I hate starting over. There are so many problems. I hope everything is going okay for you now Eileen. My anti virus puts my AD mail in the deleted file so now that's where I go for my email. Glad you're back on line...Bless you...Joyce

I know the frustration! Glad to hear all your written words and photo's have been saved. I didn't loose the writing either but I did loose many photo's. Enjoy the new computer :-)
my goodness sorry for your loss, but the flpside is thank goodness you are ok, I was worried you might of had a relapse,,glad you are back!!!!!!

Times sure have changed. yeards ago we'd would have written out poems in long hand or with a type writer and had our pictures in an album. The faster we are able to do things today the less security we have.
I'm happt that you've come back to us albeit a PC gone. I know that feeling Sis!

AD should have all your poems in their files but a computer crash can be devastating. I'm happy you have a new PC and your health was not the reason for your absence.
I've crashed 3 times already
no one knows why, first itime it was fried
by lightnig striking near my house
It took 4 weeks to get it back from the repaired shop
the 2nd & 3rd times crashed for reasons unknow
the last time wasn't bad, I did not lose any files.
anyway we are glad to see you back

A lot of goof thing are in PC grave, you have not done a complete autopsy, there is gold in them thar hills of it Ha good write, place a little cross over its remains for I betcha it suffered much under your constant tapping, anyway I am glad you're back, and I hope you get on the right footing with your new one!
