She had to beware he was so charming,But
She knew though he could melt a womans Heart
His own  remained impenetrable

He is an alchemist of the highest order
Able to easily ensnare with beautiful words
And before you know it, he casts a spell

He lives in his own aerie above the fray
As the only way to avoid earthly love
Since a few times he had been shattered by it

Thereafter,he refused to share himself
He became aloof,and totally self-contained
Which made the women even more susceptible

He never lost his attraction and charisma
Because women always think they can change him
They'd do better trying to change a dead person

Realizing that he can beguile most women
His success keeps him from changing
He became self-indulgent and self-satisfied

Meeting him is like seeing fireworks
He arouses every passion you possess
Until you reach the frozen tundra of his heart

Well Eileen, it's unfortunate but
I think most of the time that attitude
is a ruse, a cover up for low self esteem.

...then again, "I have go through frozen landscapes, but colder than my heart was none..." perhaps winter has a woman's name, like devastating hurricanes? whatever happened to that summer princess that could taw anything?
Questions...questions...a poetess should have my answers...

Amazingly, we think we can melt the ice, warm the heart, and show real love. Sadly, unless he's ready to accept, it will never happen and he will remain frozen to the core.

God bless you. Kathy

Met that man yesterday. He was a charmer of the highest caliber but, he smelled of broken hearts. We can be drawn in for a few minutes but past pain has a way of having it's own radar.
Love.

there is good diction in single words, however, there is much cliche and showing in this. poetry to me is a picture of a larger picture told through a speaker's eyes.

A beautiful photo, and a cold man. Very nicely done. Lots of phrases that resound. . ."aerie above the fray" and "frozen tundra of his heart" being two. And don't we always, always, always think, "I am the one who will change him"? Godo work Eileen
