Poem Artwork

As I lie here awake unable to sleep
that time just as the  morning creeps

To overtake the dark of night
replacing it with suns sweet light

When our thoughts so easily scatter
I'm pondering the grey matter

And all those places in-between
the hidden ones that are unseen

Times when things are in transition
they don't have easy recognition

As when the sun is gone from our eyes
before stars  light up the skies

Like in the lull before the storm
all is still unlike the norm

Those moments before life meets death
before the anatomy  takes its  last breath

That micro space twixt reality and dreams
when illusion is exactly what it seems

I'm  longing to crawl into that interspace
to uncover the mystery of how time keeps pace

transitory experiences play to the mind's ability to illicit at will, illusions -- interstices of prominence we shall not be permitted to grant release from nor ignore -- wow! -- I like this piece immensely -- thanks for sharing -- JMW

What a wonderful poem, queen! That micro space is where I lived sometimes in the past when war has stopped and peace hasn´t yet taken over. That period of transition ís where I longed to see in order to re start writing as otherwise I will not get time to think in the midst of war. Thank you for taking me back to memories that are one side bitter because of the huge risks involved in living such a situation and sweet on the other due to the commitment and dedication to share difficulties with my people on the ground. Hope are healthy and doing well and not confined in that micro space lying between life and death. GBQ

Eileen, my dear friend
I am encouraged to sense it this you are dancing with the Shadow directly. I have lost less and learned much more through this willing approach to that which most vexing and often seemingly impossible. May the transformative power within powerlessness clear your way.

Spectacular photograph and words that bring out the smoothness in "Transitions". That small opportunity to slip in between and you have captured it well. You are in my thoughts and prayers Eileen in hopes that you will be well....

Be always safe,

ET, this has a wonderful dream quality, shades of light and half light, perfect for the theme, and is the theme.

It seems that you have captured "transition" quite well... We do experience those feelings, at least I think most of us do...during those wee morning hours...in particular. I love the picture/painting...quite perfect for this writing. Oh... hurry and mend... :-) lindalaw

Jest thinking that you write better with one hand that most do with two. Hope you're on the mend. You have captured that indescribable place "between here and there" with an understanding of what that "twixt" time is.

God bless you. Kathy

This poem gives me a dreamy feeling. I love the darkness of night, when sleep is suppose to overtake you but you cannot fall asleep, but then all of a sudden it is morning and you did in fact sleep soundly...
You poem brought me to that moment.
Peace, love, and light,
Amber "V"

Eileen, what a great write, and that picture is super. I suppose in some way our lives from birth to death are in a constant state of transition.

I hope your other hand gets better.
Peace,
Dan

Deat ET, you don't need two arms to write poetry, you see all you needed to make us feel the transition was just one little finger of yours.
Get well as you let the Muses put more inspiration in your heart.
