I think of all our grandchildren and of their innocence, not knowing the meaning of a lie or hurtful words, expecting us to lead them down the right road, yet what they learn, they learn from us, another adult. Just to be that innocent all through life, would indeed be a blessing.

Young and innocent, sweet but shy,
Every little girl and every little boy.
Soft and gentle, the honesty's there,
Oh to be young and oh so coy.

An innocent smile, from ear to ear,
Truthfulness from the mouths of babes.
A bit of bashfullness to share,
Never fearing, never afraid.

So much to give without thinking,
So busy each moment of everyday.
So much time and so much to do,
Oh to be young, just to remain that way.

So innocent, not knowing what's next,
Just enough time to do what they must,
Going about in their gentle way,
Placing their lives in our trust.

You make some valid points, Rose. It makes me glad that I'm told over and over again that I "never grew up." Love and peace to you,

Regis

This is a nice poem and an interesting thought. But would you really want to do it all again? Very best wishes Joyce
