Christmas is just around the corner and like most people I am busy decorating and preparing for that very special day.

Just a few days till Christmas,
Oh what a joy through the air.
Shopping for the perfect gifts,
Adds excitment this time of year.

Carefully hanging the lights on the tree,
A place for each treasure you'll see.
All the precious gifts from our kids,
Each one is so precious to me.

No I can't seem to part with them,
Although the kids are grown in years,
Each year when I take them out of the box,
It fills my eyes up with tears.

For every year brings back memories,
Of when they were young and at home.
Now they are grown and in their world,
With little babes of their own.

They'll follow our steps you'll see,
They'll watch the excitement grow.
They too will shed tears of love,
As they see all those smiles flow.

One day they'll receive little treasures,
From each child, until they leave home.
They'll think of how precious each is,
As they enter a world of their own.
