We as parents raise our children hoping that they are happy and healthy, although it doesn't always turn out that way. When a marriage breaks apart, something else is lost, our relationship with our precious grandchildren, a very important part of our lives. Young ones today don't think twice about getting married or the vows they take. What ever happened to "for better or worst, till death do us part". I wouldn't want one of my children to be in a relationship where they are being physically or mentally abused but half those marriages break up because of some small disagreement, without thinking they say,"I'll divorce you as fast as I married you", the worst part about that is they mean it.There ought to be a law before a marriage is performed on reasons to get a divorce. I realize all marriages don't last, my first one never, but it wasn't because I didn't try to make it work, it just takes two.

 

       There Ought To Be A Law

We raised you to be happy and healthy,
From an early start in life.
We prayed one day you'd grow up,
Find a good husband or a wife.

We thought you'd give us grandchildren,
Ones we would have forever more,
We would love and cherish them always,
But you split and walked right out that door.

What ever happened to the vows you took,
To love one another, till death you do part.
Today you said I'm tired of marriage,
Look at the kids, you broke their hearts.

Marriage is such a sacred gift,
There ought to be a law.
It's something to be honored,
It should be without a flaw.

You don't take life too seriously,
Or the vows you made for life.
There ought to be a law, before,
Becoming husband and wife.
