I remember it well, it was 1997, when this was written, Our son had joined the military. We were so proud of him. He was following in his dad's footsteps, and on the other hand, I was afraid, afraid of where he may have to go and the things he may have to see in life. he was still my little boy and here he was going of to find the world all on his own.I cried then and I cry now when I think of not just him but all those children gone of to protect this big world that we are all a part of.
They say no you are too young to vote, smoke or drink and no we won't give you credit, why you are only a child but yes you can travel the world and help protect our world. There are a lot of parents who are feeling this way and I pray night and day for there children to return home safe and sound to them. Those are the children that will grow up overnight and become mature responsible adults who will forever remain Our Children whom we love.
They Are Our Children
They are our young children, Who train for war, far away, They're trained to serve and protect us, To fight for rights everyday.
They give up their freedom as kids, To travel to far away land, Some even give up their lives, I swear, this wasn't our plan,
No comfortable beds for them at night, Just a tent out in the damp cold air, Yes these are our young children, Fighting for rights, because they care.
Too young to vote drink or smoke, Too young to get credit today, Yet they'll train our young children , To fight in distant lands far away.
We'll watch for the news on TV, And pray for our kids night and day, Please God above, watch over them, While they protect us in land far away.
So young at heart is my child, I cried as I watched them grow, Please save them from all dangers, Return home, from where they must go.
Though I have not had to go through this hard experience, my heart goes out to you and other parents of soldiers.
I thank God for your son and all the men and women who are fighting for our country and for us.
You have my deepest respect and admiration for your sacrifice.

Your words could not be any more true. You said it very well in your poem, and yes they are always our babies. (My sons hate it when I say that.)

Sad but true story as our soldiers year after year fight for us and we all owe them so much for the sacrifices they and the soldiers that came before have made.
Let this coming of age story of a boy named Bean take you back to a simple time. Set in a small southern town in the 1960's, encircled by a river and gleaming white cotton fields.
A wicked Cajun Fairy named Robes Pierre entered the impenetrable Magical doll land of Sha Bebe. Queen Faustina, the ruler of the doll land, thought she had destroyed him, but he's back! Will the doll land survive his evil ways?
I thank God for your son and all the men and women who are fighting for our country and for us.
You have my deepest respect and admiration for your sacrifice.
