    No Chance To Go Home

No we can't go back there,
Where we came from,
It's been so many years ago,
Now we no longer belong.

The roads have all changed,
The people just aren't the same,
Our house no longer stands,
No one remembers our faces or names.

It's just a strange place now,
We'd feel so lost and all alone,
The folks and families have moved,
Now there's no chance to go home.

Imagine the place where we grew up,
As a child we were hard at play,
Enjoying all our childhood,
Knowing this would be home everyday.

It seemed, we had just turned around,
Our home and neighbours have gone,
There's never a chance for us to go home,
Only lost memories are there to be found.

All thoughts of my childhood,
Bring me back to an important time,
That house in the lane and my neighbours,
Will always be home in my mind.

Yes Rose it is sad in a way when there no longer exists the actual place we knew as our childhood home. Well written and thoughtful piece.
