There are so many people in this world that are over weight and can't help it, but others are so quick to put them down without knowing their medical history. I fought for years to get over 100 lbs. I took weight gain tonics but nothing worked and people called me skinny and it hurt, well for the past five years I am fighting with Diabetis, Heart disease, and Austioarthritis and more medications then my body knows what to do with. Yes I have a weight problem and I watch everything I eat, counting calories and avoiding sugars, I exercise daily and nothing seems to work, so I am trying to accept myself for who I am and it is important for people to look at the inside of a person instead of the outside before you make a statement. For my family I write the following, to me, I as well as you are all beautiful, loving people.

         Look At Me

Look at me on the inside,
Tell me just what is it you see,
Is it what I wear in the line of clothes,
Can't you accept this person, it's me.
I try so hard to please you,
I eat things that's healthy and free,
I don't like the picture you see dear,
It's not how I want to be.
I have to take meds for my heart,
My sugars are out of control,
I'm not to overwork at exercise,
It could cause a heart attack I am told.
I can hardly walk with the pain of arthritis,
I cry myself to sleep almost every night,
I can't get rid of those extra pounds I've gained,
No matter how hard that I fight.
No one can see the tears that I cry,
Each night when I lay there in bed,
No one can feel the thoughts that I have,
Each night running through my head.
You look at me with a look of disgust,
As if there's something I can do,
I don't wish sickness on anyone,
But you'd feel different if this were you.
So before you're quick to judge someone,
Look inside for the love hidden there,
You'll find someone with more then extra pounds,
Just trying to hide tears of fear.

This is a beautiful piece, and yes a lot of us can certainly relate to these conditions. It's as if you are talking about me in your work. Unfortunately most of our family suffer from these torments and ill health conditions. Wonderful piece. Lina

The Libra Solution: Shedding Excess and Redefining Success by Lisa DAnnolfo Levey

The familiar lament of dual-career parents raising children is, "I just can't do it all." The Libra Solution provides an alternative - a more satisfying and sustainable work and life approach - to the overwrought modern day norm.
