It's a shame that we forget to take time to notice all the beauty that surrounds us. Everytime I look out my window I feel that I have been given a gift, a painting that takes my breath away. With each season that picture changes of the many colors, never boring me. I can open my window on a nice day and sit back being serenaded by the choirs of birds as I relax, enjoying all that nature has given us.

Taking For Granted

The sounds of nature's calling,
Can be heard both loud and clear,
Surrounded by a beautiful chorus,
if we listen closely, we can hear.
The rust ling of the leaves everywhere,
As the rough wind blows them by,
the beautiful whistling sounds,
Like a new born baby's cry.
The waves as the ripple,
A performance from the sky,
Things we just take for granted,
Without ever questioning why?
The wise owls hoot from afar,
The birds singing in the tree,
The raindrops gently falling,
All this beauty for us to see.
The rabbits sneaking around,
The squirrels hard at play,
The chipmunks as they nibble,
Such entertainment everyday.
The things we take for granted,
Never taking time to see,
All the beautiful things here on earth,
Gifts given to us free.
The painted pictures of colors,
The pastures ever so green,
The snow on the top of the mountains,
For miles can be plainly seen.
Things we just take for granted,
We miss out on each and every day,
The beautiful gifts God has given,
Life's wonderful gift on display.
