Just Try To Understand

I try to tell you right from wrong,
So you will get through life's demand,
I want you to always succeed,
Please won't you just try to understand.
You are a man in this large world,
You need a life that's true ,
I hate to see you scrape along,
In the workfield that you do.
A family you have to support,
Give them things you never had,
To watch you struggle day after day,
Makes me feel so very sad.
You say you are contented,
With what life offers you today,
You have no ambition dear,
To better your life in any way.
You are intelligent and smart,
No need to be afraid to move ahead,
Show the world what you are made of,
Hold your head up high instead.
So be angry with yourself,
With childish ways to escape from you,
You know you have what it takes,
To do whatever you chose to do.
Listen when we try to encourage you,
Please, just try to understand,
Because we are ones who believe in you,
And know you are a good man.
