We should never say goodbye's, they seem like forever's. I think see you soon or on your return sounds better. My heart fills up each time I say a goodbye and it doesn't matter how I say it, I often wonder will it be the last goodbye, one never knows what the future holds and I always treat every moment as though it may be the last, knowing I will have no regrets.
Lonely Goodbye's
I stand alone at the window, I bravely wave my goodbye, I am not sure of what to do now, So I sit for a moment to cry. I pray for your safe return, I wonder if he has other plans for you, Then I decide to move on with the day, Not really knowing what I am to do.
I wait patiently by the phone, Knowing that soon you'll call me, Reassuring me, all is well, And soon you will return safely.
How I hate those lonely goodbye's, For they fill my heart with such fear, For I never want a last goodbye, Cause you are my life, darling dear.
It's only a week, and you'll be home, Safe in my arms once more, Then once again I'll not worry of you, For lonely goodbye's to the one I adore.
The goodbyed do tend to make us truly appreciate the ones we love. We all must fear of an unfortold ending but if love is strong then the truth will always be felt in both hearts whether together or apart. Lovely write and one that most will truly appreciate for sure.
Let this coming of age story of a boy named Bean take you back to a simple time. Set in a small southern town in the 1960's, encircled by a river and gleaming white cotton fields.
