I've often heard you can tell so much about a person, if you take the time to look at them, see their smile and their clothes. Do they wear a ring or do they have any wrinkles. Do they talk about their family or where they live or work. We often don't take the time to listen or notice the symbols, next time do it and you would be surprised at what you will learn about one.

           A Symbol

What marks the age of the year,
The wrinkles aside of each eye,
The lines along the side of our mouth,
Are symbols, and we don't question why.

Tears are falling from our eyes,
Like raindrops fall from heaven above,
It's a symbol of a broken heart,
That someone's fallen out of love.

A golden band upon a hand,
Shine on a finger below,
The symbol that bond two love,
A true love alone that glows.

The sounds of  hearty laughter,
Our little children at play,
A symbol of genuine happiness,
Carried through another day.

A reflection, in the water still,
A look at the past and the present,
A symbol of what the future holds,
And what all those things meant.

Living life from the day of birth,
A circle never ending,
Repeating life, is a symbol,
Of a person ever depending.

Take a moment to notice,
The colour of hair or a wrinkle,
Look for a symbol, to tell a story,
A symbol, that's ever so simple.

This is wise counsel, Rose; if we truly care, we ought to give the person with whom we are communicating our whole attention. Thank you for this. Love and peace to you,

Regis

Little River by Dadfire

Let this coming of age story of a boy named Bean take you back to a simple time. Set in a small southern town in the 1960's, encircled by a river and gleaming white cotton fields.
