I'm one of those people that have their mind wandering all the time. My massage therapist told me I didn't know how to relax and therefore gave up asking me to. My favorite thing far more then anything else in the world to do as a past time is to write. I am always writing poetry or country songs. I don't know if either will ever be noticed as important to others but they are my life, if my home were to catch on fire tomorrow, copies of all my writings are at my fingertips to take as I'd leave the house. If something were to happen to me tomorrow, this is what I want to be passed on to each of my children and grandchildren. Somewhere along the way, I hope my words will touch their hearts and make a difference in the way they chose to live their life. Maybe it will make them smile or even shed a tear but I'd know that it somehow reached them.
Thoughts In My Mind
I sit here all alone by the window, Seeing the world in a moment of time, Wondering what the next moment will bring, With just a thought in my mind.
No where to go, nothing really to see, Just the quietness of separation alone, Everyone of to their own part of the day, While I sit in the stillness of my little home.
With just a thought in my mind, I slip a smile at the thought of the kids, Not too long ago, tiny and laughing aloud, Those were the days I longed to live.
Today as I sit steering out of that window, I see raindrops fall down one at a time, As I think of really nothing, but lots, With so many thoughts in my mind.
I see the beauty, I feel the love, As I share with all from my heart, Watching family grow strong with my words, Being together forever, never more to part.
Oh yes dear cousin, when we have alone quiet time to reflect and count our blessings, even all the hard times and pains of the past seem a small price to pay for one little line from the mouth of a grandchild..."I love you"
