I packed up all the clothes he owned,
As he left and went away,
Wondering how I'd continue to live,
Through each and every day.
No more dinners will I prepare,
No more dangling keys will I hear,
No more smiles as you come through the door,
Only lonely nights will I endure.
I knew you were getting tired,
With so many restless nights,
Through all your pain and suffering,
You ended all the fights.
Your hair has turned to silver,
Your back was bent and drawn,
I have to accept the changes you've made,
Now that you've up and gone.
I'll find new things to do now,
Some interest to fill my time,
New ways to spend my lonely days,
To occupy my long lost time.
I realize that I am living,
It's you who have gone away,
I'll acce[pt God's final decision,
I'll go on living everyday.
