Knowing You Were There

I opened my eyes and looked at you,
You were so peaceful in your sleep,
You had that sort of smile,
That said you were in it deep.
Something wandering through your mind,
Couldn't tell just what it was,
But I was happy, just having you by,
Just knowing you were there.
 I really wanted to wake you,
Just to let you know,
That I too was there next to you,
Wanting to feel your arms around me,
Wanting to share in your dreams,
 I was happy, just knowing you were there.
I could see the snowflakes falling,
Through the window by the bed,
The beauty of the crystal flakes,
Set visions in my head,
Such a beautiful day to cuddle,
Relax by the fireplace,
Talk of old memories and joys,
Look at picture and kids old toys,
I will be happy anytime dear,
Just knowing you will always be there.
