I've been to Nashville several times and I just love their way of life. They seem to have a life of their own. I listen tot country songs and they are always of love, or lost love, so heartbreaking at times, yet we can relate to them inour lives everyday. I love their style of clothes and I tend to become very emotional at times, so I guess there's a little country in this girl.
There's Country In This Girl
I love those cowgirl boots, And the way they tap the floor, The way they make you swing your hips, Keep you wanting to dance more. I love those frills that hang there, Like something to hold on, I love the smell of the country world, Cause there's country in this girl. I love the sounds and sights of Nashville, And the way they talk to you, I love the bright lights at night, And all they have to offer too. I love the wild and free feeling, The smooth and sexy way of their world, I think they have so much to give, Cause there's country in this girl. I wear my cowgirl hat with pride, My jeans and vest are comfort clothes, They help keep me in another world, Cause there's country in this girl. The words you find in country songs, Will break your heart into, They cause you stop and think, In all you say and do, One has lost his love for life, The other's up and run away, They live a different way in their world, But there'll always be Country in this girl.
Do you remember Donny and Marie Osmond when they sang "I'm a little bit country... I'm a little bit rock and roll?" I understand how you feel, I have to have a little bit of country around me, but I never thought about writing my feelings. I love good country music and my country kitchen and of course, cornbread! I also have been to Nashville and enjoyed the time spent. Your pen reminded me of the early days of Nashville when "The Opry" was still at the Rhyman Auditorium and the band played it to the limit. Nice write.
