Lost In A World Of My Own
I sit back and rest in the quiet,
Sipping a tea, deep in thought,
I look around, what a nice home,
For I am lost in a world of my own.
The sun drifts through the deck doors,
That no one ever really shares anymore,
Lonely barbeques held once in a while,
The children have gone, no more a child.
Preparing food has become a chore,
No one drops by here anymore,
What once was, is now left alone,
For I am lost in a world of my own.
I love to sing and just have fun,
But you can't do that my yourself,
We've moved to many times I find,
Everyone around are of a different kind.
Too busy for a walk in the park,
Too busy for a tea and chat,
Things changed, this isn't like home,
For now I am lost in a world of my own.
I seem to work the whole day through,
Not much else for me to do,
The children called, they're on the way,
I'll sing and be happy for another day.
Just give me one day at a time,
To spend with my special grandkids,
They don't like to see me all alone,
I'll share with them my happy home.
Love & hugs
Nice write
Thanks,
Dan
