The Book Upon The Shelf
When I was just a little child, And a question I would ask, My mom would say, to get help, Look in the book upon the shelf.
Sure enough, there it was, In plain words for the world to see, Written in plain English, Understandable, even for me.
Someone had to use their brains, To print this information in a book, They knew just what they were saying, So you could find it, when you looked.
The book upon the shelf still sits, It's pages are brown and old, Long forgotten are the words inside, And the stories it once told.
Just push a button, type a word, It's all in front of you, The book still sits upon the shelf, Being useful to a few.
You cannot read, or write a word, No need to know all that today, Hit a button, press spell check, Mistakes just fade away.
But that dusty book still sits there, Aging bitterly, as time goes by, For no one really needs it now, For it's on computer we rely
