Down Life's Path
I went for a walk on a bright sunny day, It was just the starting of spring, Walking along the beautiful path, I could hear the Red Robins sing.
Just down the path I could hear a train, As I could hear the train whistle blow, It bought me back to my childhood days, That I well remembered so long ago.
Then as I strolled along a little farther, I saw an old man sitting all alone, He was sad and seemed so afraid, Because he had lost his way home.
Don't be afraid, as I held out my hand, I'll guide you to where you should be, We walked along to the old fellow's cabin, That sat down close by the sea.
I looked in his face, so gentle and kind, Familiar eyes with a love once so strong, An old tey wise gentleman stood on the step, Wher his love and him once belonged.
A journey we take each day of our life, Not knowing if it will lead us astray, If we can take time to show someone love, Then it can only add pleasue to our day.
One day soon, we too will be old, Our children, they'll soon forget, But each day that we can show kindness, Will only cause us less regret.
