As Life Goes By

We don't realize when we are children that everyday seems to be getting shorter and shorter. I often wonder is that why we start to forget things because life passes us so fast that we can only keep track of certain things. Then we let ourselves get so upset because we seem to forget some pretty important times and remember the less important things and people, but as time goes by we have to remember that our life time is getting shorter too, so we have to live and enjoy it to the fullest. One day it will be like a faded memory that is just blowing in the wind, someone else will have to tell us the stories to remind us of our lives and what once was.

As Life Goes By

As life goes by, we must realize,
How important our lives are,
We must learn to live them to the fullest,
And keep reaching for the stars.
We need to smile more often,
We need to make amends,
We need to grow old gracefully,
And make many good friends.
We need to dance under the stars,
Drink wine under the moon.
Enjoy the time we have here now,
Because it will be gone all too soon.
We need to look for comfort,
Accept what we find,
The older we get dear one,
The shorter life is, we will find.
We need to take notes now,
For our life that lay ahead,
For one day they will read it to us,
As we lay quietly in our bed.
Restoring our memory of thoughts,
Thats desserted our mind,
Cause I tell  you truth,
Life's not a very long time.
As life goes by, it will get even worst,
We'll look at others, with the question why,
We'll turn away not understanding it,
Then we will begin to cry.
For the memory is not as strong,
As it once use to be,
Our life it will fade, just wait and see.

I do forget things and have to keep a written journal. Life is short and the days go by so fast the older you get. I wonder how old I'll really get in this life.

Beautiful write dear Rose and a lot of wise and valuable advise being passed on here, just coming back from a family funeral and seeming to almost over night seeing others who have aged and knowing so to have I...but ahhhh...not in spirit. So in the words of the famous song...forever young.

As I always say, "I go to bed in January and wake up in December!" Life is a fleeting moment, not waiting on seconds or years for us to make up our minds as to how we will embrace life. As flowers fade, so will we. Good write and full of profound statements.
