I believe there is always a room or space in every home that just wasn't our favorite space and to me it was always the closet because I often thought as a child, gosh there isn't much room in there for all it has to hold. This little wee space and everyone is always putting one more thing in it, surely one day it will burst wide open and I don't want to be close by when it does.

The Things In The Old Closet

One by one they gathered,
Till it seemed that it would burst,
The things in the old closet,
Seem to be getting worst.
One more coat and maybe some boots,
Most of the items, gathering dust,
May never be worn or used again,
Just sitting there collecting oder and rust.
Can't give them to someone you know,
Can't just throw them away,
Cause all the things in the old closet,
May be well needed again someday.
Remember ma's old purple jacket,
With the buttons the colour of blue,
And how about pa's old hunting cap,
Gosh thats still pretty near new.
The old fishing boots and sneakers,
A cleaning would do them just fine,
Wouldn't tell them form brand new,
And now these items are all mine.
All the things in the old closet,
I can't bring myself with them to part,
One day the closet will burst open wide,
And that then, will break my heart.
It's ok to part with them today,
The things in the old closet, you know,
For over the years you'll collect things,
From every where else you will go.

Rose, my fix for the closet is that I keep moving from place to place which reduces closet clutter...good write

Thanks,
Dan

Rose I sooo know what you are saying in this old downhome type of write. We have them in our house too and I refer to them as suicide closets for you take your life in your hands each time you dare to open one.

The Libra Solution: Shedding Excess and Redefining Success by Lisa DAnnolfo Levey

The familiar lament of dual-career parents raising children is, "I just can't do it all." The Libra Solution provides an alternative - a more satisfying and sustainable work and life approach - to the overwrought modern day norm.
