Our Separate Ways

Today's world seem to just get so busy, so many times we are going separate ways with no time to share. We often wonder where or why we lose the interest in the things we use to do. We have too much going on in our lives and certain things suffer and usually it is the relationship, without even thinking.

Our Separate Ways

Lost in time, In another day,
Going, no where, but just gone astray,
Leaving behind, my love, my life,
Just sitting here, a homemaker, a wife.
Come through the door, a kiss on the face,
Gotta run, catch up to the race,
Going  again, our separate ways,
We'll catch up again, another day,
A smile is worth all the silver and gold,
I love you, then a short story told,
The day was long, we'll chat tonight,
Don't worry dear, I'll be alright.
Here I am, in our little home,
The silence is thick, for I sit all alone,
The lights are low, it is getting late,
Soon someone will be home,
For that I can't wait.
Lost and lonely as we go separate ways,
To catch uo to each, on some other day.
Life is too busy, our plate is too full,
We'll have to set, some old fashion rules,
Going again, our separate ways,
We'll catch up again, on one rainy day.

This is a beautifully written but very sad piece. What is it all about when a person can't share their heart and soul with a loved one? This piece captures the isolation between familiar strangers so well. A moving write.

There is truth in what you've penned...perhaps this is a good way to get back on track.

Thanks,
Dan

Great but sad words and oh so true, we get so involved with mundane things in life, that often we forget the most important, our spouse and family.
Love & hugs sis

Beautiful yet sad write Rose, that does capture the sense of being stranded by time and events. The other side of this poem though also comes through the knowledge that thought miles may separate people or even events...if there is love are we ever truly alone.
