Tears of Pain

I can't accept  you've left here,
As tears fell from my eyes,
I tried so hard to smile for you,
But the pain, I could not disguise.

I know it shouldn't be good-bye,
Just till we meet once again,
But there was that something special,
So why should I have to pretend.

The gentleness within your hands,
The smile you freely shared,
The words you choose to speak to me,
That proved how deeply, you really cared.

Now my life has changed for good,
You have become a part of me,
For far too long we were strangers,
Now we are part of a  family.

The little things we seem to share,
The memories that we'll hold,
The many stories that we've shared,
May forever go untold.

For you hold a special place,
Deep within my heart and soul,
A place where you will always fit,
Never being out in the cold.

I know the tears I shed today,
Were true tears of hurt and pain,
To watch you just drive away,
