I am hoping to get back on track over the next few days with thinking poetry, for now my thoughts are strayed to the past few weeks of my holidays and uniting with family, and my heart hasn't fully accepted the parting yet. There were so many important people to meet and greet, not enough time.

In The Mist of Another Day

I look around and for just a moment,
I feel that the world is all mine,
I turn my thoughts back to yesterday,
As I daydream of another time.

I feel a shiver go through me,
As I think of the fog and the mist,
I pull back the tears I hide,
And feel the love, I know, exist.

I see the cloud darken around,
I feel the fear that wash over me,
As I felt the world was totally mine,
In my deepest ,thoughts so innocently.

I feel my tears, as though it were rain,
Dampening my smile, with a chill,
Then I return to the present,
And realize, this moment is for real.

I glance at pictures that mark my memory,
I gently smile, as I look the other way,
For I feel the teardrops dampen my smile,
As I turn my thoughts to yesterday.

I count the time, till we once more meet,
We'll pick up, where we left things to be,
And once again, I'll be overwhelmed,
As I smile through tears so tenderly.

Beautifully written and the fogs that wash over Lawrencetown Beach in Nova Scotia is the perfect picture to accompany this exceptional and very emotional poetry.

I find the more age I attain (lol) that pleasant memories, not bad, pervade my mind all the time. A smell, music, someone's voice...all pleasant nuances. Treasure these photograpic mental images for no one, no one at all, can ever take them from you. Excellent write!
