Fuels Running Low

Have you ever had a day when it feels as though you haven't stopped for a minute, well I have had a few days like that and I really feel as though I am now running on empty. Although I love to entertain company and make sure everyone celebrates their birthdays, I have to realize when I am overdoing it, so I can't blame it on others just me. I have often said nothing a good cry can't take care off and then back on my toes again. Everyone should know ehan their fuels running low and take that break that is so badly needed.

Fuels Running Low

It seems I give myself no time,
To sit and enjoy life,
I baby sit and entertain,
Try to be a good mother and a wife,
I try to plan the celerbrations,
For all their special days,
Running around just like a rooster,
As though I were in a maze.

I feel as though I am on empty,
My fuel is running low,
I should stop and rest awhile,
But I just have to go.
Make the bed and sweep the floor,
Do the laundry, go to the store,
Cook a meal and clean up time,
Sometimes I think, I've lost my mind.

I know I make more work for me.
Tomorrow will be another day,
I'll tend to the grandchildren,
When we'll again laugh and play.
Sometimes when I really feel rundown,
I go off  quietly to be alone,
I sit in silence to cry awhile,
And face the world with a big old smile.

This is great sis, sounds a lot like me as well. Oh yes that's right we came from the same family. LOL. Lately I feel like I'm running on empty myself. That's when its time for much needed rest.

Love you sis

We Moms are a bit like a coffee pot. Trying to stay perky, brew the next meal, serve others, just get a dirty cup back,,,, the pot becomes empty,,,,, thank God for the overflowing cup of Love and Joy ,, and hopefully plenty of caffine lol,,, to keep our day going. Be sure to make time to take time for you !

I am really beginning to believe we were separated at birth. You just laid out my plan for the day. Relatives coming in and the birthday dinner is at 7. Somewhere in there the cleaning has to be done (okay, its not my forte), some legal matters have to be addressed, oh yeah, cooking for the crew. Love to know I'm not alone. I am sure tonight I will go off quietly to be alone.
Great guidance. Thanks.
Hugs--RaeLynn

Something I think is needed by all, every now and then.

When my fuel's runnin low, I have to get outside, take a deep breath, and smell those proverbial roses. Then, I can move on again.

Ahhh dear Cuz methinks it is time you accept some of the advice you so willingly give...time to take it easy and let others pull the wagon. I know your heart is big and you want to make everyone happy but...if you fall ill than all you do is make everyone sad including those little grandchildren who don't want to see Nanny in a hospital bed. How do I know this? I watched the look of fear on my own grandchild the first time they brought her to visit me after my heart failed. Hugs
and slow down

I've known that empty feeling and yet not feeling like there is time to take a pit stop.

I know Rose,
Sometimes when I look at family pictures, I notice I am in very few of them, Why? because I am usually the one taking them.

I know the feeling my friend...I too often feel as though I am running on empty! Lately I have been trying to slow down and take a break and a breath, sometimes just a fifteen minute power nap in the evenings can make all the difference in the world! Enjoyed!

Hey Rose. I can just see you running around doing all those things. Sounds like you need some time to restore your battery power too. Excellent write my friend. Penned like a master. God bless. Paul

I think only Mom's can fully appreciate your words. In spite of all we do, we wouldn't have it any other way!

No you haven't lost your mind because what you do is out of love.
