The Past & The Present

Somedays we are just thrown off by other things taking over out time and attention. It seems to cause our whole rutine to fall apart, when things aren't the way they use to be, thats how I felt today as I thought about the past and the present.

The Past & The Present

I tried to play my guitar today,
But couldn't seem to strum,
Tried to sing but I was lost,
For the words just wouldn't come.

For I thought of my past,
The way things happened to be,
Then the present came into focus,
As I thought about you and me.

I tried to look into the future,
But couldn't get into the time,
For the thoughts that were there,
I couldn't get out of my mind.

Things don't seem to be the same,
They change with every day,
The way we use to laugh,
The things we use to say.

Maybe it's all in my mind,
Maybe it's all in my heart,
Maybe it's just a feeling,
Because we are far apart.

Missing loved ones is probably the hardest part of life. I'm glad there is musicand writing to help sooth those longing moments spent alone. You write of this well and I think about the moment that loved one in back in our embrace.
Thanks for this one.

Nice write, Rose, you really got to 'strumming' right along with your guitar...guess you 'picked' a good tune.

Thanks,

If we can't put the past in proper perspective it can really play havoc with our present, can't it?

Sis a beautiful write and yes many of us know tht feelings of missed loved ones but enjoy even more their return. Unless of course they are gone home to the Father, and even then they are always with us.

Love you sis

Time often plays silly games on our feelings and our the way our day to day lifes seem to occur. It is then we have to sit back, grab a cup of tea in one hand and a good memory in the other and kick back and enjoy the fact that the tea is lovely and so is the memory and that time will return us to what we enjoy..given time. LOL
hugs

I 'second' George's review. Being apart from the one you love [even for a short while] feels like forever.

But, when he returns - you'll pick-up just where you left off, and the absence will be but a memory.
