Lost In A World Of My Own
I look forward to the mornings, When my days are full and bright, I can’t wait to open up my eyes, To another day to turn out right. I can’t wait to see your face, As it shares a smile with me, And I’m sure you feel the return, As I return it willingly.
I pick up my guitar to play, I sing it loud for all to hear, I’ve found the confidence within, It was hiding there somewhere. Even if they don’t want to listen, I don’t care for I am in my home, I’m here just pleasing myself, Lost in a world of my own.
I pick at the chords, a time or two, Until I get it down pat to play, They don’t have to listen, if it hurts, For I am pleasing me in my own way. I sing with a joy inside my soul, And love hiding in my heart, Something I want to share with you, Right from the very start.
So I’ll come searching for it, When my day is full and bright, That smile and love you share, That makes each day seem so right. I don’t mind what others have to say, If they chose to leave me all alone, Cause I am pleasing to myself, Lost in a world of my own.

I have learned that if you are pleased with yourself - you can easily please others. That 'shining' from within does, indeed, radiate outward for all to see.

Believing in God confidence, is far healthier than self confidence, His just don't fail nor is frail...
I love this poem. It speaks to those of us who have traveled the same road. I am sooooooooooo glad that you choose to please yourself because it spills over to the rest of us.
My very best regards,
Chris
