Prepared with No Regrets

Spoke to a relative of mine the other night and he sure set my mind to thinking all through the night. I still wonder about messages we get in different ways and should we take them to heart or is it just my mind wandering.

Prepared With No Regrets

I heard the phone ringing loud,
It was him on the other line,
He seemed to want to talk,
For hours unlike any other time.
He got me to thinking as he spoke,
About words I said the other day,
About people not accepting messages,
When it’s their time to go away.

The more we talked the more I thought,
My heart was breaking into,
He said listen Honey to what I say,
I will leave this world long before you.
I don’t want to hear that,
I’d die if you were gone,
You know how much I love you,
For you to go, would be all wrong.

I told him, how I had talked to God,
I asked Him to take me before them,
For my life could not go on,
I couldn’t live, I couldn’t pretend.
You are much too young,
You’ve got so much living to do,
Please don’t even think of this,
If you go my life would be through.

We talked into the late night hours,
I wiped tears between the words he’d say,
I had to make him understand, I loved him,
Before I let him go away.
I tossed and turned all through the night,
Thinking of that call & what he had to say,
How he was prepared with no Regrets,
When the Father calls him home to stay.

As we discussed I think we all when recovering from loss of a loved one go through a period of why them and not me which often develops into the "my turn is next" syndrome. To lose brothers as you and I both did leaves an empty spot and an uncertainty about our own future. In the case of the relative of which you speak, I can with the same type of medical condition emphazize with him. Time though is what gives hope...
hugs from down home,

How spiritually expressive and a bit of soul searching too, yet thoughts going into another realm that we choose not to think about much as the guiding light of God leads us forward until we are all called home....

Be always safe,
Karen

Rose--How wonderful it would be if we all could feel that way, no, live that way, with no regrets. Not just when we are wrapping up our lives but every day.
Time to keep that attitude and hang around another few decades.
Nice write.

Beautiful Morning To You Rose,
This Is A Very Loving Write & Embraces Our Hearts With The Inevitable Passage of Our Existence. I Feel Heart's Grieving In The Pain Of These Written Feelings. Letting Go Has Many Facets. Many Feelings.

As for regrets, I have known lots of regrets, but regrets are in many forms & of many kinds. Also a useful tool to learn from. I nearly met my maker back in 2006 & it was a very calm feeling without any regrets...
Much Love & No Regrets!!

Isn't that strange sis, he and I had that same talk a while ago and we both said pretty much the same thing, I too have no regrets in my life I too have accomplished most of the things I wanted. But I would rather go first then see the rest of you go before me. Someone has to make it known that I am a force to be reckon with, right!
But don't be sad it is a far better place to finally go home again sis, and I know you and most of our family believe this to be true.

Beautiful words and thoughts went into your write sis, but I feel as if I wrote the words myself, I could not have written it better.

Love you sis,
Selena

A good poem, and no regrets should we all have. We are all ready to meet our maker when he wants us. I know I am, and Tom already has gone before me. My love of my life left me behind to struggle through life without him too. By death we are separated but will be united again once upon a time.
