Lost & Lonely Feeling

Summer comes and our whole lives change, The children are home from school looking for our time and attention, that time that was ours for so long. The house is filled with visitors going a coming, we entertain putting our life as we have grown accustom to. Soon summer will pass and the nights arrive early and the summer humidity turns to frosty evenings, where we again find ourselves in our familiar lifestyle and we realize we have missed the ones we spend so much time with. Oue family right here on the Den. I have missed you and look forward to the school season starting again.

Lost & Lonely Feeling

We all feel lost and lonely,
Some are feeling all left out,
Can’t wait for summer to end,
So you’ll once more be about.

The nice weather comes,
We all  soon dissappear,
With that lost & lonely feeling,
That other’s don’t care.

I know we all just get busy,
With the kids all at home,
Company in and out,
Things we just can’t postpone.

Work in the yards,
Visit family and friends,
Tend to childrens activities,
Seems like there’s no end.

Summer will soon be a past,
Cool weather will be here again,
We’ll be back to our norm,
With family here on Authors Den.

I look forward to that time,
When we’re once more at home,
Just like the family we’re use to,
Never left again to feel alone.

And then it is winter, with the snow hanging from the bared trees and the logs in the fireplace sparkling happily as grannies and grandpa's tell histories to the little ones sitting on the rug.
Not only cold comes with winter, it makes the family to come a little more together to keep the warm going.

I hate to let go of summer but then have Thanksgiving to look forward to and Christmas. Change of seasons does good for me too.
You are right it is lonely when you have to stay in on those snow days. Otherwise the car rides take the monotomy away. Good.

Living in Hell (Texas), I can appreciate and look forward to the start of Autumn, then my favorite season, Winter. Very well penned, Rose; your feelings echo so many of us here!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

This summer here was quite hot, too hot for my liking. I don't DO heat, especially now that I'm older!! Heat really bothers me now!

A beautiful write my friend, you've penned the thoughts, hearts and souls of many of us here at the den. My summer has been very hectic, and school has begun just last week here in the mountains. I for one am glad to be back at the den and need the companionship of my friends at the den as my evenings are very quiet and lonesome right now due to the loss of my canine friend that's been a part of my life for eleven years. A wonderful write, enjoyed!
Blessings,
Joyce B.

Hi Rosie,

Thanks for this poem, our country has only two seasons, and it's the rainy one now. I will have the Autumn experience soon and that would be great to write about as I won't be "lost and lonely".

You have captured a lot of truths here with this one Rose. I have heard people complain or just feel dissappointed that their reviews and the writers postings have fallen off so dramatically but the simple truth is that summer is a time to be outdoors and making the memories that prolong us through the cold winter months and also give us the inpirations for our future writes. I too look forward to a busy time again here on the den but I appreciate the reasons why it was slow.
