I often think of the past present and the future and our relationship. I cherish every moment and I keep telling my husband I could never have another after him because I would never find anyone to treat me like he does. Some even think I am spoiled.

What Am I Living For
(If Not For You)
November 20, 2008
By: Rose Marie Rideout

I look at you through the corner of my eye,
I spread a smile from ear to ear.
Many years have passed since our lives begun,
Yet for fear of tomorrow, I shed another tear.
I look at our old wedding photos,
My hands tremble as I continue to view,
That age is upon us dear, as I Think,
What am I living for,if not for you.

You bend over to kiss me gently,
As you have done so many times before,
Looking into my eyes you still whisper,
With a wink, it is me you still adore.
You place your hand on my head,
And tell me of the beauty you see,
That no other can fulfill your happiness,
In this bent and broken body, is still me.

I take a deep breath and my eyes begin to fill,
You wipe away the tear before it flows,
You ask me, if you have made me happy,
For it's so important for you to know.
Darling through the good and hard times,
I wouldn’t know what to do,
You darling you have made me the happiest,
What am I living for, if not for you.

You deserve to be spoiled... as I am certain that he is spoiled as well... that is what love does.... when we give our love to one, the love is given back, overflowing.... Please take care of yourself...and let them wait on you some more....hehe.... lindalaw

I seem to recall an old country song from the fifties or sixties of the same name as this poem but unlike the happy ending of this wonderful writet that is a tribute to both you, Fred and your relationship the song had a sad ending. Glad yours has such a happy one.

Yeppers, Rose, you are spoiled, and it could not happen to a better Lady. Your guy is a (for sure) KEEPER :-)

I think this is the absolute best love poem I have ever read, and, if you do not get it published, shame on you!!! Any editor would snatch this poem. (TWF needs it too).
