My daughter, friend and I went to visit the Seniors on Dec. 20th. we took them trays of cookies and cakes along with treat bags decorated for Christmas. They were so excited as we sang Christmas tunes. I left there loaded with happy tears, for we filled so many hearts. We hadn't realized that so many had no family. If you are wondering what to do to fill your heart and others, visit your Senior's home, Vets Wing or Hospital for there are many who can't make it home for Christmas.
Take A Moment For A Senior December 20, 2008
By: Rose Marie Rideout
A Smile, a gester, a kind word or two,
A small conversation will kindly do.
A kiss on the cheek a hand to hold tight,
Someone who cares, to make it seem right.
Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year,
Hope you aren’t naughty, We know he’ll hear.
For Santa is watching through every keyhole,
He knows everything we say or do, I’ve been told.
A little sing song, no music you say,
It doesn’t matter, we make music our way.
Let’s take some pictures, make a little book,
Pleasurable memories, lets take a look.
Young at heart and so full of love,
They are special gifts from God up above.
Aren’t we so lucky to have them come our way,
Do one special thing to brighten their day.
They have filled my heart & soul this special day,
By sharing their time & smiles, that’s come my way.

I love this message because it is so true-it's the little things that makes the biggest difference to someone sometimes, especially seniors who are such amazing people with lots of things to teach us all, great poem, Rose.

Rose,
AMEN!!! I used to work in a large nursing home and I KNOW firsthand their are so many with no families, no visitors. You have a dear compassionate heart to help these precious people. You make me want to strive to do more for them, for it don't take much as you say, a smile, a hug. Everyone has that much to give. God bless you for this write, Rose.
Beautiful, heartfelt sentiments Rose and God bless you for all that you do. Yes we know, partly the reason why we make little baskets filled with fresh fruit, home made fudge, nuts and other goodies and the seasons allow and pass them out. This time of year we add little trinkets, crayons, color books for the children. The elderly, sick and the very young, others in need, need us this time of year, but they need us all year long. We should get together and combine forces. Wish we could do even more. God bless you for your loving, giving heart in reaching out. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas filled with joy.....
People forget that one day, God willing, they will be there: old, with no friends or family. Your compassionate, loving reach towards our elders is beautiful, a shining testiment to the love of God. Well done, and Merry Christmas!
A good thing to do; so many seniors don't have family or friends; they're often alone, and during the holidays it's even harder to bear! Very compassionate, caring write; God bless you, Rose, and may you have a very merry CHRISTmas, the best CHRISTmas EVER!!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D X0X0X0X0
What you did is an example for others Rose and a true showing of the spirit of Christmas which is giving. When we give of ourselves we are the closest to God that we can be and still be mortal. Also, your poem is lovely.
Hugs,
Marcia

Welcome!
The poems in this beautifully bound book are a result of over twenty years of observations. Observations of the world around us and on the telecommunications network. All of the hate, love, heroism, disasters, and those who help.

Perhaps "..Quiet Storm" will help rekindle old flames buried and long forgotten or express the love so deeply locked inside of your soul longing to be released.
