Well we are here in Nova Scotia and slowly getting all unpacked. Our home is beautiful and the neighbours are really friendly as Fred tells me, I am sure I will get to meet them soon. Now if I can find the garage through the boxes, it would be great. Sorry I haven't been around but I am trying to get back a little each day.

Part of the Course
July 24, 2009
Written By: Rose Marie Rideout

The wind is a fiercely whistling,
The day it sure seems gloom
I keep sorting through the boxes ,
I unpack in each & every room.

One by one I empty them
as I gently put things away,
Praying to get ahead real soon,
So I don’t miss out on each passing day.

I haven’t met the neighbours yet,
But I really haven’t had that much time,
But Fred tells me they are really friendly,
So I’ll keep that in my mind.

Cousin Fee is coming for a coffee,
We’ll talk of our future plans,
The books we’re getting published,
The family gatherings in demand.

The day is so dark and dreary,
Looks like rain is in the air,
I really wish the sun would shine; so
Fred can ride his Harley that seems fear.

I guess my break is over for now,
It’s time that I resume,
To the many boxes awaiting me,
In so many other rooms.

Hey Rose, wishing you well in your new digs. Moving is such a pain, but I have had a policy for years that did not die with my most recent move. Each time I move, I keep one box or piece of luggage packed, ready for the next move...I've moved so many times, it gives me a head start on the next move.

Cheers,
Dan

Congratulations Rose on your new home and may it bring you great joy and happiness! Unpacking isn't a chore I envy, but I wish you the best of luck with it! Enjoy your new home, your family, friends and new neighbors ~ Hugs, Elizabeth :)

Rose,
Good to see you posting again and congratulations on your new home; easy on the unpacking, it's very hard work.

I don't envy your dear Rose and yet in a way I do. I know this is a dream come true for you. Take some time off for yourself. Those boxes will wait. There are two or three in my guest room closet that I haven't unpacked yet and I moved in this new home almost five years ago. Someday I'll get to them and it'll be like opening presents. If you do take some time off send this to me for you showcase at The Writing Forum. Say "Hi" to Fee for me and pour me a cuppa so I can be there in spirit.
Love,
Marcia

Ah, moving is not one of my favorite things to do. I especially loved the lines :

I haven’t met the neighbours yet,
But I really haven’t had that much time,
But Fred tells me they are really friendly,
So I’ll keep that in my mind.

And Fee is getting a book published too? I will be first inline to buy that.

The only thing I remember of Nova Scotia is that I was told to bring a big kite because the wind there was constant and "special" LOL
Hope you get settled soon, moving from one house to another is a pain, last time I moved from Norway to Sweden it was weeks before everything found it place!

Glad you're in your new home, Rose; congratulations! Happy to hear your move was a success! You'll be livin' out of boxes for a while, but think of this: each box you unpack, that's one less you have to worry about! LOL One by one, they'll disappear, and your home will be in order again! :) Well done; enjoyed your poem, Rose!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

Trust me, I know all about living out of boxes! *sigghhhh*

Great write, Rose and congratulations on your move. Just be careful of those Nova Scotia Sea Monsters up there my friend. They can get pretty vicious from what I understand. ;-)
