change is inevitable as all things, including us, are not standing stones; life's sediments shift. As you so wisely surmise, we can only ever move forwards, never back. And there is no such thing as standing still, unfortunately! But embracing change means that we at least keep pace and, hopefully, thereby find an equilibrium and a peace.
