All too often we forget always thinking there's another day, it's too late when our days run out. No one really wants to leave this world with any regrets.

He Forgot
September19,2009
Written by: Rose Marie Rideout

Off in the distance,
There’s a feeling of death,
Someone’s left this world,
With at least one regret.

Sad and lonely with fear,
Someone has forgotten to care,
Too late now to turn back time,
Something he kept within his mind.

He forgot to say those precious words,
I’m sorry, accept those words I say,
Now it’s really a little too late,
He can’t return for he’s gone far away.

What could have been,
Will never be, it’s too late,
He set it aside day after day,
He thought that he could fool fate.

Off in the distance, there’s a dark sky,
Tears are being shed, don’t ask why,
No one thinks, they’ll soon forget
Hold back the words, they’ll soon regret.

It's sad, because no one wants to leave anything behind, and no one wants to die with regrets. To think that he forgot to do one thing, say one thing, oh I wonder what it is he wanted to say but didn't. What is it he wanted to do but put off? It makes me wonder and think.

sad sad pen, Rose...I hope they didn't forget...I hope between them and their Maker, they did! I had come across these same thoughts many a time...as has us all! Sometimes, maybe we're just suppose to forgive, regardless..."I Saw Two Tables" is a poem I wrote on those lines...
Your pen stirs those thoughts once again...
So enjoyed~

I agree with you Rose...when the moment beckons them, the words "I'm sorry", need to be spoken. LIfe is like that...we put things off and before we know it a lifetime has gone by and for some it's tooo late!
Very nicely penned, Rose.

Hugs,
Anna

Yes there comes a time for all of us when it is too late for words, whether they be "I'm sorry" or "I love you" or "I forgive you" (or many others), the regret and hurt are deep, devastating and enduring. Well said Rose! ~Hugs, Elizabeth

death....to say it is so permanent...yet to feel it is an even deepr reality...I cannot even fathom someone not giving a sincerity of thier heart before they go to love....who, or whatever that love may be...those left behind suffer it still....

Yes all too sadly time and life have a way of trickling through our fingers like sand though an hour glass. If you love some one, if you need to say your sorry, if you need to forgive, if you need to forget...there is no better time than today. Great write Rose and a great point made.

Very profound and true. After all, as I say in by bio, "No one is ever promised a tomorrow" So if you have something to say, do it now. You point this out so well.
