I think it is beautiful to have and hold onto the memories of where and love was found by so many couples.

That Little Cabin
Filled With Memories
April 26,2010
By Rose Marie Rideout

Oh but I remember it so well,
I have it sketched within my mind
That day the  sun shined through every raindrop,
The day I laid my eyes upon yours.
You told me you were a loner, I said I’m lost,
You invited me in for tea brewing on the old stove.
You couldn’t wait to show me your interest,
Your pride, your work, your words.
I listened to everything you had to say,
As I wondered how can I get closer to you,
How could I make you a part of me.
Dark overtook the sky, the rain fell harder,
Could I find my way back to my cabin,
Did I really want to?
It was warm and cozy right here beside you,
Of course being the gentleman you are,
You asked me to stay the night,
You promised me you would respect me,
And I knew you would.
The thunder hit hard and rain poured harder,
I wondered was this meant to be.
We sat by the fire for hours talking,
About the past, present and the future,
Our dreams, our plans were the same,
We knew, we were meant to be,
Meant to be together forever,
Why did I lose my way, why did I panic,
It was all part of God’s plan,
We kissed, we touched, we longed for each other,
That little cabin filled with precious memories,
Will always be a part of you and me.
Here we are years into the future,
Fulfilling our dreams and plans together,
With our precious memories from that little cabin.

Little cabins have such away to bring people together. This write reminded me of my old cabing I had up in the mountains..no lights, no phone, no plumbing but a wood stove and the great outdoors for entertainment. Well done Cuz.

Memories, precious to you, make up the story of your life. I'm glad you kept and shared these beautiful memories. "It was all part of God's plan." I'm glad you have written it down so those who come after you will know what a special plan it was.
Love,
Connie

How incredibley beautiful Rose. It was fate that led you that day. You weren't lost at all; you'd found your way to where you were suppose to be. It's such a pleasure to read your poetry. It always brings me joy, and hope. Now I'm going to read your new short story.

California Hugs,
Marcia

That little cabin might actually be the safe, warm place in the writer's mind that signifies the finding and bringing together the writer and the writer's, in the writer's mind, God given love.
Beautifully written, Rosie.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
