We are in this world together and it is important for us to love and respect each other no matter our colour, religion, gay or where we were born. The truth being we are all alike.

We're Family, Just Not The Same
August 20, 2025
By Rose Marie Rideout

I know that we are different, in some small way,
You may be a different colour or maybe you're gay.
It doesn't really matter to me in any way,
You have always been my very special friend,
And I'll continue to love you until the very end.

You may be from a different place,
But I love you no matter what's your race.
Deep down inside we are from the same place.
You may be a different religion and what you believe in,
That's okay to,for that isn't a mortal sin.

We are all so different, we're just not the same,
But if we love each other, there's a lot for us to gain.
There's no room for abuse or any kind of hate,
Life can be so very short and we'll never know,
When the man up above, calls and we must go.

So if you have a gay friend or maybe a few,
Treat them with so much respect,
They'll treat you that way too.
If they're a different colour, look at them and say,
Hello my friend, hope you have a pleasant day.

So you say you come from a place  far away,
That doesn't bother me at all because,
We are all God's children created with His love.
I have two arms, two eyes a nose and a head,
Just like you my friend, my blood also runs red.

I have so much to love to share with you,
Not everyone can say that, it's so true .
So many live with anger for all they seem to see,
Living their lives lonely and so miserably.
Don't be afraid to care and show a little love,
We're all made the same from that Man up above.
