On a trail in Yellowstone
I am suddenly surrounded
By shimmering blue orbs:
Mountain bluebirds
Taking wing in the sunlight;
How many, I cannot say,
But for endless seconds
They are all around me
Before they disappear.
Years pass...
Another season,
Another National Park,
I am drawn to the side of the trail,
To the shadow of laurel bushes,
And there discover
Many butterflies
Of every pearlescent hue,
Some dying, some dancing,
And some creating new life.
I watch in awe
As one, then two,
Land on my hand,
And I feel blessed.
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
Mary Angela Nangini's poems celebrate the richness of life and love. From the city to cottage-country and the roads in between, Nangini explores the changing seasons of her varied region. (This book will soon be reprinted in hard cover.)
Be safe,
